Alongside these creative projects, I also develop personal technical demos, including this interactive portfolio. It features a 3D robot embodying an AI powered by an LLM, capable of interacting with its environment through natural language. This project illustrates my interest in modern architectures, real-time 3D, and the concrete integration of AI into interactive interfaces.
My Personal Activities
Chess
One of my current passions is chess, a discipline that requires both strategy and deep thinking. I particularly favor the Italian Opening and the French Defense. For those interested in my progress or who would like to challenge me, you can find me on chess.com and lichess.org under the username 'valentinbach'.
Reading
Recently, I've found refuge in reading, exploring both classics and contemporary works. '1984' by George Orwell, in its first translation published in 1950, and 'Animal Farm' by the same author, were particularly impactful for me. 'Rich Dad Poor Dad' by Robert T. Kiyosaki provided me with valuable perspective on finance and wealth, while 'Stronger Than Hate' by Tim Guénard touched me with its story of resilience.
Creation and Technology
I've always been fascinated by the intersection of creativity and technology. On one hand, I enjoy exploring different aspects of digital creation: whether it's photo editing on Gimp, video editing on DavinciResolve Studio, live streaming with OBS (Open Broadcaster Software), or web development. The fantastic world of Warhammer 40k has also played a crucial role, capturing my imagination through miniature creation and tabletop gaming.
DIY
On the other hand, my love for DIY often leads me to delve into the inner workings of technology. Building my own computers and servers is an experience I find both stimulating and rewarding. This practice gives me a deep understanding of the mechanics and logistics behind these complex machines we use daily.
Sports
The ice rink has long been a place where I felt at home, gliding on the ice and enjoying the sense of freedom it provides. When younger, I also practiced judo for four years, a discipline that taught me rigor and balance. Today, cycling mainly occupies that place. Pedaling has become a way to escape and find my rhythm, with the effort gradually fading in favor of the pleasure of moving forward.
Music and Culture
Drums was a musical expression I explored for a year, giving me another channel to express myself. I'm an eclectic listener and, although I appreciate all types of music, I have a particular affection for Maxime Le Forestier, Michel Fugain, and Francis Cabrel.
